From the jury's assessment
A silver- or bronze-coloured cone stands in any room – and fills it completely with music that cannot be pinned to a location. The Bang & Olufsen Beosound 2, radiating through 360 degrees and penned by designer Torsten Valeur, are objects to look at and to listen to. In each of them a tweeter radiates downwards onto an acoustic lens, and behind openings sit two midrange drivers. The full foundation is provided by a 5.25-inch bass driver radiating towards the floor – the speakers appear to float. Via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth they make contact with networkable devices and stream their music into the room. Or they can be connected directly to services such as Tidal, Spotify, Deezer and others. At the same time they are also compatible with AirPlay, Google Cast and DLNA. And remote control can also be by app – even when several are integrated into a multiroom system.
- 360-degree room sound from four drivers in three ways
- integrated Class D amplifiers
- multiroom and streaming capable via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
