Speed was right at the top of the checklist as a credo during the development of the Fishhead Audio Resolution 2.6 FS floorstanding speaker. An Air Motion Transformer as a tweeter and a comparatively small midrange driver resolve all frequencies above 350 hertz in high detail. Added to these are two comparatively small woofers, which hold their own against larger drivers – but can be nimbler. This ensures the fast, high-resolution sound in the bass range as well. The frequency response, which falls away gently only above 19 kHz, was voiced at the height of the midrange driver: with a cabinet more than a metre tall, it then aims precisely at the ears of a listener sitting in an armchair or on the sofa. A designer cabinet with aluminium feet ensures that the eye listens too.
