In developing the Fostex TH-610, the successor to the TH-600, the Japanese changed both design principle and material: the new model is now a closed headphone whose 50-millimetre Biodyna-series diaphragms with a one-tesla neodymium drive sit in a housing made of black walnut. That alone creates a very special feeling when you pick them up. Ear pads of protein leather and a weight of 375 grams guarantee a high level of comfort for long listening sessions. The more neutrally voiced sound, produced by frequencies between five hertz and 45 kilohertz at a sensitivity of 98 dB, is intended to do the same. The oxygen-free copper cable can optionally be replaced by a balanced cable.
