Once upon a time – is what one would normally say when it comes to a loudspeaker of this design. The Heco Direkt is wider than it is deep and, as a two-way speaker, relies on the combination of a large 25 cm woofer with a relatively large 28 mm dome tweeter – and there you have a high-end loudspeaker that breaks with the usual conventions. The performance benefits from this: powerful bass thanks to a doubly vented cabinet meets clean highs and the lowest distortion, not least thanks to high-quality components and a Klippel measurement on the woofer that promises the highest precision well into the midrange. All-metal design feet ensure a secure stance, and with a high efficiency this loudspeaker is also outstandingly suited to supposedly weak valve amplifiers.
