The device is only 35 grams light and features a GPS receiver as well as GSM module, an emergency button as well as microphone and loudspeaker. It also features a battery, which can – depending on the operation mode – supply energy for up to 40 days. First and foremost, the GPS Hero is an emergency system: by pushing the button, three phone numbers are called one after the other; at the same time, an SMS with the GPS coordinates is sent.
