Intelligent vacuuming – thanks to the iRobot Roomba 980 that is a reality, not a hollow marketing phrase. Thanks to iAdapt 2.0 Responsive Navigation, the 13-centimetre-flat vacuum robot finds its own way around several rooms on one floor and knows, even after interim trips to empty and/or recharge, where it has to carry on working. Its sensors save it from collisions and from unwelcome encounters with stairs. It vacuums for up to two hours, either on a regular programme, by manual control on the device or via the iRobot Home app on a smartphone and by Wi-Fi. Its turbo carpet mode increases the suction power so far that 99 per cent of all allergens, pollen and particles down to ten micrometres are picked up.
