Brutal is probably the most characteristic description of the bass experience when the possibilities of the Magnat New Omega 380 are fully exploited. The integrated output stage with up to 300 watts drives a long-throw woofer in 38-centimetre format. Its coated and hardened paper cone radiates towards the floor in the downfire construction, which makes the bass reproduction fuller still. In addition the woofer is supported by an optimised Airflex port. A subsonic filter protects the driver from inaudible frequencies on the one hand, but at the same time ensures improved reproduction of the acoustically effective frequency range. The result is excellent depth – regardless of the levels currently on the programme, because the subwoofer in its sturdy MDF cabinet masters quiet notes too.
