Even an apparently simple water kettle may hide a few surprises. The Petra Electric IK 10.00 offers a visual and technical contrast to conventional kettles. The 1.5-litre Schott Duran glass container is a clear invitation to discover what the kettle can do. Its contents needn’t be limited to pure water because a stainless steel tea filter insert also allows it to brew the user’s favourite blend of tea. To bring out the full flavour of the leaves, the water can be heated in four different stages to 70, 80, 90 or 100° C. This is accomplished by an energy-saving induction heater installed in the metal base of the glass container. Though the heater has a performance of 1.7 kW, it is claimed to save up to 20 per cent of the necessary heating energy.
