The Ricoh Theta S distinguishes itself from its predecessor with a better image quality and Full HD full sphere videos. That way, it means a premiere for the market of spherical photography and videography. With its two lenses, which each record one hemisphere of the overall image, the camera looks like a small photo stick. The internal, 8 Gigabyte large storage allows to save up to 1.600 pictures in full resolution, and each video can be up to 4 Gigabyte large or 25 minutes long. The data can be transmitted via USB or WLAN. The latter also establishes the communication with a smart phone, which can be used as trigger or viewfinder via the respective App. In addition, the App allows viewing and navigation through the 360-degrees images and videos. The smart phone also creates a direct link to social media channels such as Youtube and more.
