With the new generation of its top model, the Samsung Galaxy S8+, the Koreans are once again counting further – and adding a plus sign. The screen is then not just 5.8 but a full 6.2 inches, which corresponds to 15.8 cm. On the almost frameless Super AMOLED screen with rounded edges Samsung accommodates 1,440 x 2,960 pixels and introduces a new format factor at the same time: at 18.5:9 it is meant to be equally well suited to videos and photos. Another highlight is the Bixby assistant: like Alexa and others it obeys the spoken word, but it can also identify objects in front of the cameras. The necessary computing power is supplied ex works with an eight-core processor running at up to 2.3 GHz and plenty of memory.
