To improve a bestseller is always a tricky task. For the new Volkswagen Tiguan, the dynamically designed second generation of the car, the developers have succeeded in doing that trick. It is the fourth model in the compact class which is built on the group-wide MQB. The SUV, which features the best sales figures in its class, lost 50 kg of weight. Besides a classic street version, VW offers a sportive R-variation and an off-Road version. The VW Tiguan GTE rounds of the quartet: It features a plug-in hybrid drive with 160 kW / 218 hp. A large range of electronical assistants makes driving more easy and comfortable. Among those features is a Front Assist with a City emergency braking function, the active hood for better pedestrian protection, Lane Assist and the highly variable connection of the infotainment system to different smart phone operating systems.
