Following a consumer survey, the PLUS X AWARD presents the best retailers of 2021
In 2021 a consumer survey allowed the PLUS X AWARD to identify 49 retailers that stayed in their customers' memories in a way worthy of recognition.
For unlike the PLUS X AWARD's familiar procedure based on the judgement of professional expert jurors, the award “Germany's best retailer” rests on a consumer survey. For that reason this seal represents the direct opinion of end consumers and is thus a clear indicator of outstanding retail performance.
For 2021, in June 2021 the German Institute for Product and Market Assessment surveyed exactly 6,508 men and women from all federal states aged between 20 and 65 on behalf of the PLUS X AWARD.
Since the beginning of 2020, the coronavirus pandemic has influenced economic life enormously. Many retailers nevertheless manage to defy the pandemic situation through creative ideas such as smoothly organised click-and-collect and to offer end consumers as pleasant a shopping experience as is possible. Despite great adversities such as lockdowns and the associated shortages of goods, retailers have done everything in their power to keep business going and were thus able to achieve good customer loyalty. It is precisely this inventiveness and spirit of innovation in bricks-and-mortar retail that – as the award also makes clear – remains an indispensable pillar of our economy and brings its added value all the more clearly to the fore. In this difficult time we have all become even more aware of how valuable the role of bricks-and-mortar retail is as a mediator between brands and end customers. The PLUS X AWARD wants to honour and strengthen this achievement of retail with its coveted award.
