Well-known trade journalists accompanied the presentation of the certificates as laudators. Volker Wachs (publisher of CE&TRADE digitalMarkt) gave the laudation for Rainer Führes, Andreas Rockenbauer (publisher of E&W Austria) the laudation for Erich Geisser.

The laudator for Helmut Geltner was Peter Lanzendorf (publisher of CE&TRADE digitalMarkt), and Olaf Sturm (editor-in-chief of i-fidelity.net) gave the laudation for Anton Schalkamp.

Chaired by Peter Lanzendorf, a panel analysed the development of the relevant markets over the past decade and selected those to be honoured. Peter Lanzendorf: “At a time when managers work for a company only for short periods, a credible and consistent brand policy is often hard to develop.

Short-lived decisions in management lead to a lack of identification within the company and among its target groups. With the selected Managers of the Decade we want to make the point that long-term commitment to the company, to the brand and also to its employees establishes markets, gives brands a profile and thus creates advantages that secure the future of the company and its trading partners. All four managers demonstrate this impressively through their commitment.”
