Once launched as a full-frame camera for beginners, the Canon EOS 5D Mk IV, the middle Canon DSLR series with a sensor in the 24 x 36 mm 35 mm format, has by now arrived in the professional segment. The magnesium body, protected against dust and splash water and able to take the odd knock with ease, houses state-of-the-art photo and video technology. The 30-megapixel sensor is built with dual pixel technology and offers, when pushed, sensitivities between ISO 50 and ISO 102400 (natively 100 to 32000). Seven frames per second can be driven into memory – as RAW for three seconds, as JPG for as long as it takes to fill the memory cards (one Compact Flash and one SD/SDHC/SDXC). By adding 4K video at 30 fps with a resolution of 4,096 x 2,160 pixels, the 5D Mk IV continues its history as a top video camera.
