The best specialist retail and specialist trade brands of the year have been decided
PLUS X AWARD for Germany's best specialist retail and specialist trade brands
In 2019, 49 brands receive this particularly valuable award.
Germany's specialist retail and specialist trades have voted: the best specialist retail and specialist trade brands of the year have been decided. A total of 49 brands receive the special award of the PLUS X AWARD, the world's largest innovation prize for technology, sport and lifestyle.
With this special award, the PLUS X AWARD honours the brands that render particular service – namely in cooperative collaboration with retail and trade; brands that support retailers and tradespeople with special assistance and training programmes and that in some cases develop dedicated sales channels and product lines for them.
Up to 3 January 2019, 1,000 German specialist retailers and 1,000 specialist tradespeople had the chance to vote for their favourite brands. The unprompted survey was carried out on behalf of the PLUS X AWARD by the German Institute for Product and Market Assessment.
The importance of specialist retail and the specialist trades is greater today than ever. “It is important that industry understands that it should protect and support precisely these sales channels out of its own interest,” says Donat Brandt, founder and President of the PLUS X AWARD. He explains this importance with a vivid example: “In times of ever-stronger distance selling, many consumers make the wrong purchases out of ignorance. One of the reasons for this is the frequent lack of advisory expertise. When a customer makes a purchase without guidance and later discovers that the product does not meet their expectations or the intended application at all, they need help from a specialist retailer or a specialist tradesperson. Often it is then only a matter of limiting the damage.”
Cooperative collaboration between manufacturers and retailers or tradespeople is becoming ever more important – not least in order to satisfy customers. “The awards for the best specialist retail brand and the best specialist trade brand in particular show that the management of the recognised brands has understood this value and that their sales departments also work very responsibly and cooperatively with retail and the trades,” Donat Brandt emphasises.
The awards for the best specialist retail and specialist trade brand 2019 are very significant B2B awards that know how to honour precisely these achievements of management and sales and thus of the whole brand.
