There are many ways to arrive at a delicious coffee, but for many the one with a portafilter is the only true one. The Smeg espresso machine ECF01RDEU comes into the kitchen in the style of the 1950s – in an authentically striking red. The cleanly finished machine with a stainless steel portafilter relies on a thermoblock heating system and a high pump pressure of 15 bar for its water technology. The machine is modern in other respects too: alongside two inserts for espresso and espresso doppio there is also one in which current coffee pods can be used to prepare the small black hot drinks. The water tank holds one litre, which can also be turned into steam in order to froth milk, for example.
