Digital transformation: the Plus X Award restructures

Press & Media

The world's largest innovation prize takes on a role model function and drives digital transformation forward internally too: Daniel Krebs becomes Digital CEO of the Plus X Award.

For 15 years the Plus X Award, as the world's largest innovation prize for branded products in technology, sport and lifestyle, has strengthened and protected brands with its awards and given end consumers guidance in their purchasing decisions. That also means that the Plus X Award moves with the times and responds to changes that arise in the market and shape the spirit of the age.

Probably the greatest change of recent years: digital transformation. The future is digital – and requires a willingness to engage with it. “Only those who live digital transformation and adjust to change can remain successful,” says Donat Brandt. He is President of the Plus X Award and founded it 15 years ago. “A great deal has happened in the meantime. Communication measures that were effective then no longer work today. A rethink was therefore necessary.” Donat Brandt is referring to the paradigm shift in the awards industry.

Daniel Krebs will accompany and shape the change at the Plus X Award. The authorised officer at Donat Brandt's side will, as the new Digital CEO of the Plus X Award, digitalise the connection between brands, end consumers and expert jurors.

“Developing digital communication via social networks further is particularly important to me,” says Daniel Krebs. And more: they also want to place a main focus on connecting all of Donat Brandt's companies, which include the German Institute for Product and Market Assessment among others. Brandt's decision in favour of Daniel Krebs came quickly: the 31-year-old holds a Master of Science in business psychology and has worked successfully for ten years for Media Society Networks GmbH, which presents the Plus X Award.

There are further changes: the product management of the Plus X Award has been enlarged in order to work together more efficiently and more closely across departments. With Florian Scholzen, René Bludau-Brandt and Lucas Wollenhaupt, experienced industry insiders head the team. They have worked for the Plus X Award for many years and are familiar with the companies and products.
